IHK HC orders probe into abducting of girl by Indian trooper

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has allowed local police to go ahead with their investigation into the kidnapping of a 17-year old girl by an Indian trooper from Kupwara district.

The trooper, who kidnapped the girl from her village Haihama in the district on the intervening night of March 27/28, was produced before the Srinagar court on Saturday.

Advocate Imtiyaz Ahmed Sofi, appeared on behalf of the girl’s family and told the court that the trooper on gunpoint kidnapped the minor girl from her house. Justice Sunil Hali has reserved his judgment after listening to the arguments of counsels from both sides. He also rejected plea of the accused to handover the girl to him.

Meanwhile, a mother whose two sons were disappeared in 28-Madras troops’ custody 10-yers ago at Machikrand in Uri area of Baramulla district told mediamen that troopers ransacked her house and arrested her two sons, Muhammad Younis and Abdul Hamid without any rhyme and reason. She added that despite all attempts to enquire about their whereabouts, the family has not been able to get any information about the two brothers.
