Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): Despite the tall claims of restoration of normality by New Delhi and the puppet administration in occupied Kashmir, the territory continues to be a disturbed area for all practical purposes.
This was revealed by a local daily of occupied Kashmir, ‘Etalaat’ in its editorial published on Thursday. The newspaper wrote that the draconian laws like Public Safety Act, Armed Forces Special Powers Act and Disturbed Area Act give powers to a Indian police and troops to kill any person on mere suspicion with impunity. These laws further empower the police and troops to pull down any house if they believe that the house has been used or is being used as a shelter by the militants.
Etalaat further questioned that if Jammu and Kashmir was fast returning to normality, what was the need of these draconian laws? These laws must be repealed immediately adding that if these Acts remain in operation, it will be an admission on the part of the authorities that situation in Jammu Kashmir is not as rosy as projected by New Delhi and other quarters.
