Srinagar, May 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the long-time aide of martyred Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, has revealed that Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB) pressurized him, offering a bribe of Rs 50 lakh, to withdraw the statement regarding the assassination of the Mirwaiz, he made during an interview with BBC radio.
Talking to a local daily ‘Rising Kashmir’ Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil disclosed that a day after his interview, in which he had said that the assailants of the Mirwaiz appeared non-locals and spoke broken English, he was summoned to the Governor’s house where IB officials offered him the bribe.
Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil, recalling the incident of Indian troops’ indiscriminate firing on the funeral procession of the Mirwaiz said, “The troops had killed scores of people when they opened fire upon the procession.”
