Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, leaders of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference have lauded Pakistan Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s stand on Kashmir.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister in a recent interview to CNN-IBN had said that Kashmir was a core issue between Pakistan and India, which should be resolved in line with UN resolutions keeping in view Kashmiris’ aspirations.
Senior APHC leader, Shaikh Abdul Aziz in a statement hailed Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s stand and hoped that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmir cause politically, morally and diplomatically as it had done in the past.
Expressing concern over the plight of Kashmiri detainees in different jails, Shaikh Abdul Aziz urged the world community to pressurize India to release Kashmiri prisoners and also initiate a probe with the support of Amnesty international and International Committee of the Red Cross into the issue of unmarked graves recently found in occupied Kashmir.
Appreciating Pakistan Prime Minister’s stance, another APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan in a statement in Srinagar said that no solution of Kashmir dispute was possible without ascertaining the will of the people of the occupied territory.
In London, the Executive Director of Kashmir Centre, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl addressing a gathering of Kashmiris, appreciated the principled stand taken by the Pakistan Prime Minister about the Kashmir dispute and said that the United Nations mandate guarantees the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir.
