    Hurriyet leader being denied medical care in IHK jail

    Srinagar, February 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the relatives of illegally detained leader of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, Peer Saifullah expressing serious concern over his deteriorating health in Srinagar Central Jail have said that authorities are risking his life by denying him medical care.

    Talking to media men in Srinagar Peer Saifullah’s relatives said that he was seriously injured while being interrogated in custody under draconian law, Public Safety Act in 2010, mass uprising. “Now he is being deprived of medical care which makes his life even more vulnerable. He was hit in the head during interrogation and C-T Scan has confirmed an injury in his head after which doctors advised surgery,” they said.

    The relatives said that the detained leader was given Saturday’s date for MRI before he would undergo surgery. “But the police guards didn’t turn up to the jail where he is lodged. Due to negligence of the police, Pir Saifullah couldn’t be carried to hospital for the tests which could have a very serious impact on his health,” they added.

    Meanwhile, another incarcerated Hurriyet leader, Imtiyaz Hyder, has also been reportedly suffering from various ailments.
