Srinagar, April 30 (KMS): Occupied Kashmir has the highest percentage of patients suffering from lung cancer.

This was revealed in the research finding of postgraduate researchers working with Soura Medical Institute in Srinagar.

The research carried by Sheikh Mushtaq and Parvaiz Koul, in assistance with the Department of General Medicine, also reveal that Srinagar has the highest lung cancer occurrence.

The study also reveals that 83 per cent of the overall patients suffering from lung cancer are smokers and the rest of 17 per cent are non-smokers. The researches have also warned that the frequency of lung cancer may increase in the coming years.
