Srinagar, May 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, paying glowing tributes to the Charar-e-Sharief martyrs on the thirteenth anniversary of burning of Sheikh Noorud-Din Wali’s shrine, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has emphasised that Kashmiris’ sacrifices will never be allowed to go waste.
Indian troops after continuing siege of the Charar-e-Sharief for two months in 1995, barged into the shrine and burnt it to ashes.
Addressing a public gathering in the area, the APHC leader, Zaffar Akbar Butt termed the burning of the shrine as a tragic event and said that the people of Kashmir would feel the effects of this dreadful incident for centuries.
Later, the Hurriyet leader led a procession, which started from the shrine and culminated on Yoosmarg Road. People on the occasion raised high-pitched pro-liberation and anti-India slogans.
