Srinagar, July 02 (KMS): Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has ruled out any talks with the Indian government unless it accepts the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and release all political prisoners.
Syed Ali Gilani while addressing a massive gathering in Srinagar said, “India has tried hard to suppress the sentiment in Kashmir but has failed to do so in the past sixty years,” adding,” It cannot succeed even if it doubles the number of troopers in the territory.”
Referring to the Amarnath land transfer issue, Syed Ali Gilani said that India was politicising the Yatra to reinforce its occupation. He maintained that present agitation against the land transfer has put India on the back foot.
“Earlier India used to say that Kashmiris are gun yielding people and projected Kashmir issue as an issue of terrorism. But today India has been exposed before the world when people are protesting peacefully on roads for their right,” he added.
Syed Ali Gilani further said that India was engaged in changing the cultural and religious identity of the occupied territory. Lashing out at pro-India parties, he said that they were responsible for the situation prevailing in the held valley and were helping India to carry forward its agenda in Kashmir.
