Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): Senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has deplored that the human rights situation in occupied Kashmir is worsening by every passing day and the people in miserable conditions.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said, “ The occupation forces have started to keep hostage and evict parents and other family members of pro-freedom activists from their residential houses,” adding, “There is no moral justification for such actions and it is sheer violation of International law.” He expressed strong resentment over such arrests.
The Hurriyet leader appealed to the human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Asia Watch to focus their attention on this serious matter and take effective steps to safeguard the civil rights of people in the occupied territory.
Condemning the use of force by Indian police against University students on Indian President’s visit to the University, Syed Ali Gilani maintained that the Kashmir University was being used as launching pad to promote un-Islamic culture and the students who raised their voice against this cultural aggression were harassed through different ways.
