Gilani condemns ban on Nimaz in school premises

Srinagar, April 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the Delhi Public School (DPS) authorities for banning Muslim students from offering Nimaz (prayer) in school premises.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar urged the parents of those children who study at DPS to discharge their wards from the school. “If the parents of these children possess Islamic consciousness then they should send their children to other schools,” he said.

“Apart from being a school, DPS is a part of dirty policy, which is being implemented by New Delhi to malign the identity of a Kashmiri Muslim,” he maintained, adding that the establishment of this school is a part of cultural imperialism with a wicked intention of strengthening the occupation in the occupied territory. He said that despite stopping the children from offering Nimaz other forms of tactics are applied on students with a motive to divert the attention of children from Islam.

“Kashmir is the land of Sufis and the people here are very sensitive about their religion. We cannot tolerate any disrespect to our religion,” said Gilani adding, “Pro-India politicians are responsible for the ongoing cultural invasion in the occupied territory. With the consent of India, these politicians have made the establishment of such schools possible.”
