Farooq Siddiqi lambastes India over ban on TV channels

Toronto, April 25 (KMS): Toronto based Kashmiri liberation leader, Farooq Siddiqi has deplored the ban by Indian government on airing Pakistan TV channels in occupied Kashmir.

In a statement issued here the pro freedom leader said that it is yet another example of India’s fake democracy and colonization mentality.

The ban, he termed is a prelude to scheme of manipulating so called coming elections that India intends to fabricate in order to mislead international community. Mr Siddiqi said that the intention is to stifle Kashmiri pro freedom voice that is against the elections. The purpose is also to counteract Pakistan’s moral and political support to the Kashmiris.

Mr Siddiqi said that Pakistan channels were watched in Kashmir because Kashmiri Muslims would feel affinity with the religious, political and cultural   programmers of these channels as against the anti Kashmiri and Bollywood obsessed Indian TV channels.

It goes to show the fear and nervousness that India has developed because of its continued occupation and by the alienation of people of Kashmir. The ban on Pakistan TV channels is an act of desperation, he added.
