Farooq Siddiqi hails EU resolution on mass graves in IHK

Toronto, July 15 (KMS): Toronto based Kashmiri liberation leader, Farooq Siddiqi, has hailed the efforts of all those political groups and NGOs in the European Parliament who coordinated with the Executive Director Kashmir Centre Brussels, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and succeeded in passing the unanimous resolution regarding the discovery of unnamed mass graves in occupied Kashmir.

Farooq Siddiqi in a statement in Toronto commended the efforts of the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) for producing the initial report about the mass graves. He termed the meeting of European Parliaments Foreign Affairs Committee to discuss the continued human rights abuses in Kashmir by Indian troops and particularly the issue of mass graves as an accomplishment in the continued endeavour of diplomatic efforts that Kashmiris have embarked in the European Union.

Farooq Siddiqi hoped that the committee will uphold the universal declaration on human rights and political rights and take concrete steps to pressurize India to pave way for the complete end to rights abuse and also send a fact finding mission to investigate the disappearance of thousands of Kashmiris and establishing a case against Indian authorities and their stooges.

The liberation leader maintained that the finding of unnamed mass graves in Kashmir is a replica of Shebrinitza massacre in Bosnia Herzegovina. He said that the European Union must not measure similar crimes against humanity with different yardsticks especially when onus of responsibility on Indian rulers is far more than what it was on Serbian President Late Slobodan Miloscwhick, or on President of Sudan who have been charged with crimes against humanity. Because of the fact, he added, that the democracy as tinted by India and used as weapon to gain advantage in establishing international relationship, call for more burden of responsibility on Indian rulers and their stooges in occupied Kashmir.
