Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the government and public sector employees have given a 20-day ultimatum to the puppet administration to meet their demands.
The ultimatum came on the second day of the two-day strike called by employees’ joint action committee (EJAC). The employees continued protests for the second day while all the offices across the occupied territory remained closed.
The employees, shouting slogans against the puppet regime, marched through the streets of Srinagar and staged a protest demonstration outside the Divisional Commissioner’s office and later in the CAPD department.
Speaking on the occasion President EJAC, Muhammad Khursheed Alam said, “We are giving an ultimatum of 20 days to the authorities. If they don’t meet our demands, we will be left with no option but to resort to protests and strike,” announcing a complete strike on May 26 and 27. He demanded of the puppet Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad to fulfil his promises made to the employees.
Around 50 employees were injured and hundreds detained by police on the first day of the strike.
