Dozens injured in Srinagar due to troops’ use of force

Complete strike on Kashmir martyrs day in IHK

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In Srinagar, dozens of people were injured today when Indian police personnel resorted to brute force to disperse an anti-India demonstration at Naqashband Sahib.

The demonstrators were subjected to heavy lath charge and excessive teargas shelling while they were shouting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.

Meanwhile, complete strike is being observed today all across the occupied territory. Shops and all other business establishments remained closed in all major cities and towns of the territory. Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference.

22 innocent Kashmiris were shot dead, one after the other, by the troops of the Dogra Maharaja on July 13, 1931, in front of Srinagar Central Jail who were later buried at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar.
