    Demos in Nowshera, Kathua against puppet regime

    Srinagar, January 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people took to the streets in Nowshera and Kathua areas to protest against the anti-people policies of the puppet regime.

    The shopkeepers and traders in the Nowshera town held demonstration against attitude of the Municipal Committee authorities towards their problems.

    The traders of the town while shouting slogans against authorities at Mukherji Chowk said that Municipal authorities were charging Rs 30 per month from each shop but they were not manning lanes and drains. They said that the main market and lanes remained unattended and drains always seen choked. “People and traders face lot of hardships and they themselves have to clear the drains. Filth remains scattered in the market roads,” they added.

    Meanwhile, residents of Rajbagh and adjoining areas in Kathua blocked the busy Jammu-Pathankote highway for several hours in protest against power supply failure in these areas for the last three days.
