Anti-India protests in Srinagar, Handwara
Srinagar, May 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protest demonstrations marked with crippling strike were held in Charar-e-Sharief today, to commemorate the tragic event of burning to ashes of Sheikh Noorud-Din Wali’s shrine by Indian troops this day in 1995.
The APHC leaders addressing demonstrators on the occasion emphasised that India could not suppress Kashmiris’ liberation movement by unleashing state terrorism in the past and it would not be able to do so in the future, as well. They maintained that the people of Kashmir were determined to continue their struggle, despite all odds, till they achieve their goal of right to self-determination.
Over thirty-five persons including five photojournalists were injured when the troops entered into a play ground in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar, subjecting to severe thrashing without any rhyme or reason, the cricket players and the mob watching the match.
Protest demonstrations were held at Partap Park in Srinagar and in Hadwara against Indian state terrorism.
