Srinagar, April 23: A Kashmiri youth has been detained in Delhi’s Tihar jail because he denied surrendering his money.Imran, an aeronautical engineer hailing from Neelipora in Handwara, was arrested by the special cell of Delhi Police on November 15, 2006 from Dwarkamanglapuri.
Imran said that his father had sent him Rs four lakh for buying a flat, adding the cops took the money and asked him not to claim the cash and then only he would be released. "Since I refused to give them the money, they tortured me and registered a false case against me," he said.
"If I knew that my career would be ruined, I would be detained in the infamous Tihar jail, tortured and falsely implicated, I would have surrendered the money," said Imran in a letter.
