Ask people to march towards Pampore on Saturday
Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Coordination Committee, comprising pro-freedom groups, traders and lawyers, announcing that the agitation against the economic blockade would continue till Sunday, has called for social boycott of local policemen who opened fire at peaceful protestors during the recent anti-India demonstrations.
The Coordination Committee, will be headed by the Chairmen of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani while Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Masarat Alam Butt will be its press secretaries.
Giving details of the program of the Committee that was formalized in a joint meeting at Mirwaiz Manzil, Nayeem Khan and Masarat Alam Butt in a press conference in Srinagar said, “People will hoist black flags on their houses and beat rooftops for half an hour after Isha prayers (9 pm) till Sunday. The Committee said that principals of schools and parents forcing students to participate in August 15 functions will be treated as an outcast and will have to bear the brunt of social boycott.
The committee said that Jamia Masjid has been designated as centre point for collection of relief pouring in from different parts of Valley for the people suffering due to blockade. “Those who wish to donate any items including eatables must deposit it at Jamia Masjid. From there, the relief will be distributed through local mosques.”
The Coordination Committee appealed people to move towards the martyred leader, Shaikh Abdul Aziz’s Pampore residence on Saturday where it would disclose a long-term resistance program. The Transport will be allowed to move with a Green Flag with ‘Allah o Akbar’ written on it. It said that people from every nook and corner of the Valley on Sunday will move towards United Nations Observers’ Office at Sonawar where a memorandum will be submitted. The committee asked the doctors and lawyers to join the march wearing their respective white and black uniforms.
Lashing out at Jammu and Kashmir Police, Nayeem Ahmed Khan said that the committee will soon reveal the names of policemen who killed innocent civilians here. “People will have to go for complete social boycott with them as a protest against the killings,” he said. He denounced the attitude of New Delhi based channels for not portraying the situation with objectivity.
Earlier, the meeting of the Coordination Committee was held at Mirwaiz Manzil. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders including Shabbier Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Khan, Masarat Alam Butt, Gulzar Ahmed Gulzar, Muhammad Shafi Reshi, Dukhtaran-e-Milat Chief, Asiya Andrabi, Jamiat-e-Ahle-Hadees Chief, Maulana Showket and representatives from Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce, Traders Federation, Fruit Growers Association, Hoteliers, Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) attended the meeting.
