Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people have expressed their strong resentment over the concretisation of the bunkers used by Indian troops and police.
The bunkers made up of piled up sand bags had become a common sight in the held valley since 1989 creating an aura of fear. However for the past one-year, many of these sand bag bunkers are being made concrete with bricks and mortar. Despite public outcry about 50 new structures have been erected in many parts of Srinagar city for the last two years.
As most of these bunkers are present along the roadside, people say besides creating much inconvenience to public movement especially at the congested places, these are creating bottlenecks for the traffic as most of them can be seen encroaching upon the very busy roads with a barbed wire fencing around them.
