Srinagar, April 17 (KMS): A team of Kashmir Bar Association has expressed grave concern over the plight of Kashmiri detainees languishing in various Indian jails.
The bar members, on the directions of the High Court visited various Indian jails to observe the conditions of Kashmiri detainees. The five-member team, comprising bar President, Nazir Ahmed Ronga, Bashir Ahmad, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Ashraf Butt and Muhammad Yousuf Dar visited Agra Central Jail and interviewed many detainees.
The team has completed the visit of some jails in India and will move to District Jail Kathua, Kot Balwal Jail and District Jail Udhampur in the occupied territory.
The bar members will issue a detailed report about their visit at the end of their journey after reaching Srinagar. Meanwhile, the members also approached the Supreme Court of India in connection with the registration of various applications moved by a number of detainees.
