Complete strike in occupied Kashmir on Wednesday

Rich tributes paid to martyred Hurriyet leaders

Srinagar, May 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete strike will be observed on Wednesday to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference to convey to the world that the people of Kashmir will not be deterred from continuing their liberation struggle despite Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile, glowing tributes were paid to the martyred leaders at a seminar held in Srinagar, today. The seminar was addressed among others by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Bilal Ghani Lone, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Shaikh Abdul Aziz, Agha Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi, Fazl Haq Qureshi, Muhammad Azam Inqalabi and Nazir Ahmed Ronga.

Kashmiris’ inclusion in talks process stressed
The speakers underlined the need to associate Kashmiris’ genuine leadership with the dialogue process between Pakistan and India to bring about a just solution of the Kashmir dispute. Appreciating Pakistan’s efforts towards resolving the dispute, the speakers urged India to reciprocate these efforts to ensure peace and security in South Asia.

Earlier, addressing a delegate session in Srinagar, the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq deplored stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory.

An Indian trooper was killed in an attack in Mendhar area of Poonch.
