Mediapersons thrashed by occupation forces in IHK
Srinagar, June 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete strike was observed in Doda town and thousands of people protested against the decision of land transfer to non-Kashmiris, demanding its revocation.
All educational institutions and markets remained closed while the public transport remained off the road. A procession was also taken out from Jamia Masjid Doda.
Forceful protest demonstration was held against Indian state terrorism in Bhaderwah. The Gujjar community leaders told mediamen that the troops of 4-Rashtriya Rifles thrashed and beat mercilessly Gujjars at Seoj Dhar during siege and search operation. "They even not spared the children and women,” said Muskeen Ali, one of the members of the community. The Gujjar leaders further said that the troops after beating the members of the community looted gold ornaments and eatables.
Meanwhile, at least 12 media persons were injured due to brutal action of occupation forces in the territory during the past one week. Shabbir Dar, a correspondent of a local English daily was brutally beaten by the Indian troops while he was covering a massive protest in Chinar Colony area of Srinagar. Another journalist, Mushtaq Adil was also subjected to torture by the troops at Jehangir Chowk in the district while he was performing his professional duty.
Around a dozen of police personnel entered the office of the local newspaper ‘Daily Etalaat’ and smashed whatever came in their way. They also damaged vehicles and motorcycles of the staffers. The policemen were incensed over the reporting of mass uprising and police brutalities across the held valley during the last six days.
On the other hand, the activists of Hindu fanatic organization, Bajrang Dal attacked the Jammu and Kashmir (JK) House in New Delhi. The attack took place when the puppet Finance Minister, Tariq Karra was in the premises. Earlier, the Dal activists gathered near Hotel Taj Mansingh, marched towards the JK House on Prithviraj Road and pelted it with stones.
