Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the President of Action Committee Against Land Transfer (ACALT) and former Kashmir Bar Association President, Mian Abdul Qayoom has said that they will fight not only against the land transfer to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board but also the occupation of seven lakh kanals of land by the Indian army.
Talking to mediamen in Srinagar, Qayoom said, “Fight against illegal land transfer to Shrine Board is our first target. Afterwards we will fight the occupation of seven lakh kanals of land by the Army in Kashmir.”
The former Bar association President termed the decision as a conspiracy to change the demography of occupied Kashmir adding that New Delhi was inventing new methods to strengthen its illegal occupation of the territory and creation of SASB was a step in that direction. He said that people of valley were not against the pilgrimage but the puppet administration was misusing the religious festival and giving rise to communal tensions through its criminal policies.
Holding the pro-India parties responsible for the land transfer, Qayoom regretted that they were now shedding crocodile tears only to mislead the people.
The ACALT president warned the people that if SASB was not stopped at this juncture, it would occupy further areas in future. He appealed the people to observe one-hour complete strike from 12 pm to 1 pm on Thursday also requested them to stage sit-ins outside the mosques for half an hour after Juma prayer.
