Tributes paid to Kulgam, Hajin Martyrs
Srinagar, February 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, normal life remained paralysed in Kulgam district and Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on the second consecutive day, today, against the killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian troops.

The Indian forces killed six Kashmiir youth on Sunday at Frisal in Kulgam. All commercial establishments remained closed in Kulgam district and Tral area.

Dozens of youth assembled near bus stand Tral and staged protests against the killings. »

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, it was on February 7, 2004, when Indian Army dragged civilians from houses in Chithabandi area of Bandipora and showered bullets on them.

Residents of the area said that fifteen people were used as human shield during the carnage. In February 2004, during the four-day-long crackdown, Indian army killed 5 villagers and injured over a dozen by showering bullets on the villagers it used as human shield during a clash with Mujahideen. »

The troops killed the youth during a siege and search operation in Amargarh area of Sopore. The operation continued till reports last came in. Earlier, two Indian policemen were injured in an attack in the same area.

Indian police claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter with the troops.

Srinagar, January 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, five Indian soldiers were killed while four others went missing after a snow avalanche hit an army camp in Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district.

Five bodies have been recovered so far, said an Indian official, adding that a rescue operation is continuing to look for any survivor.

Meanwhile, four members of a family were buried alive after an avalanche hit a residential house in Gurez area of Bandipora district. »

Indian forces ransack houses in Pahalgam

Srinagar, January 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, braving heavy snowfall and chill, thousands of people, today, attended the funeral prayers of three youth, martyred by Indian troops in Islamabad district.

People from dozens of villages including rushed to Awoora area of Pahalgam to join funeral processions of the youth. The mourners carried the bodies of the martyrs towards the native villages of the martyrs in huge processions. South Kashmir areas reverberated with high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans on the occasion. »
