British MP stresses for meaningful dialogue on Kashmir

London, May 28 (KMS): British Member of Parliament, Paul Rowan has called for a meaningful dialogue on Kashmir to resolve the lingering dispute between Pakistan and India in an amicable manner.

Paul Rowan made these remarks here during his meeting with the Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl.

Professor Shawl apprised the British MP about the latest situation in occupied Kashmir particularly the issue of unmarked mass graves recently discovered in Baramulla, Rajouri and Poonch districts. They also discussed the recent Indo-Pak talks held in Islamabad and hoped that the peace dialogue between the two countries would move forward at a fast pace.

Mr Rowan said that the presence of Kashmiri voice in the talks would make it more meaningful, adding, “The need of the hour was to find ways and means to ascertain the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.”

Both the leaders expressed their grave concern over the human rights violations in the occupied territory hoping that the international community would play its role to improve rights situation.
