Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the newly appointed inquiry officer of the Doodhipora massacre has revealed that the Indian Army is not cooperating in the investigation.
The inquiry officer, Justice Muhammad Nazir Fida asked the Commissioner Home Secretary to direct the army personnel of 30 RR to lend a hand to help conclude the inquiry. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on May 27.
It is worth to mention that on February 22, 2006, four children Ghulam Hassan Butt, Samaad Mir, Amir and Shakir were killed by the troopers of 33 RR while they were playing cricket in village Doodipora of Kupwara district. After widespread protests against the killings in the area, the then puppet administration constituted the judicial inquiry into the incident.
Twenty-four villagers including a student of eighth standard have unanimously deposed before former inquiry officer that the troopers resorted to indiscriminate firing on children and youth playing in a cricket field.
