APHC leaders under house arrest

Srinagar, April 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Bilal Ghani Lone, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zaffar Akbar Butt and Javed Ahmed Mir were placed under house arrest on Friday.

The leaders told media men from their residences in Srinagar that they were placed under house arrest since early morning and a large number of Indian police personnel were deployed at their houses to prevent them from venturing out.

The leaders were informed about the restrictions on their movement outside their residences in Srinagar, as they were planning to lead a protest march on the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s visit to the occupied territory today. They had also a plan to present a memorandum at the United Nations Observers Group at Sonawar about the recently discovered unmarked graves and custodial disappearances in occupied Kashmir.
