Srinagar, March 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan was not produced in the Court after he objected to being handcuffed at Central Jail, Srinagar.
The lawyers representing him have threatened to file a contempt petition against the jail authorities for violating the Court guidelines. “The 3rd Additional Sessions Judge was scheduled to hear Nayeem’s case on Thursday. The jail authorities in violation of Court rulings tried to bring him handcuffed to the court premises. He strongly objected to it,” Advocate Rafiq Ahmad Joo, who is pleading Nayeem Khan’s case told media men in Srinagar.
Nayeem objected to board the vehicle handcuffed in the jail, he was dropped there and was not produced before the court, where his case was to be heard, he added.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan, booked under draconian Public Safety Act, was recently shifted to Central Jail Srinagar from Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu on the directions of High Court. The court is hearing a writ petition challenging his detention under PSA.
