APHC held talks with Delhi on core issue: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, April 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the Hurriyet held its talks with New Delhi on the issues like demilitarization, plight of Kashmiri detainees in different jails and to resolve Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks.

The APHC Chairman in a media interview in Srinagar held pro-India parties responsible for the failure of the talks between Hurriyat and New Delhi. He said that pro-India parties, feeling insecure, hatched conspiracies to sabotage the talks when Hurriyat was simultaneously holding parleys with Pakistan and India.

Mirwaiz, while referring to the talks Hurriyat held with New Delhi, said that the Hurriyat leaders put forth two dimensions pertinent to the Kashmir issue. “One dimension was internal which highlighted the issues like demilitarization, conditions of detainees languishing in various jails and other human rights violations committed by the Indian troops in the occupied territory. Another dimension was external which stressed on the political solution of Kashmir issue through tri-partite talks among India, Pakistan, and Kashmiris,” he said.

Mirwaiz maintained that before the talks Indian government assured them that it will review the issues of human rights violations and the overall ground situation in occupied Kashmir but later on it turned its back towards the peace talks.
