Concern expressed over Kashmiri detainees’ plight
Srinagar, May 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah has reaffirmed the Hurriyet’s resolve to continue the struggle till a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations is brought about through peaceful means of negotiations.
The APHC leader was addressing the Hurriyet activists in Islamabad, today. He said that the talks on Kashmir should be meaningful and genuine Kashmiri leadership should be associated with it.
The APHC leader, Shaikh Abdul Aziz in a media interview in Srinagar, today, expressed concern over the plight of Kashmir detainees and pointed out that the detainees were being deprived of basic human necessities while subjecting them to physical and mental torture.
The President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum, Pandit Bhushan Bazaz in a statement in Srinagar emphasised that the Indian government was responsible for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the occupied valley and the killing of one hundred thousand Kashmiri youth.
Meanwhile, the government employees including teachers remained on a complete strike, today, in protest against Indian troops’ subjecting their peaceful demonstration to brute force in Srinagar, yesterday.
On the other hand, people took to the streets in Bachapora against Indian state terrorism.
