APHC-AJK pays tributes to Kashmiri martyrs

Islamabad, July 13 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter held a seminar in Islamabad on the Kashmir Martyrs Day to pay tributes to the martyrs of 1931.

The acting President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir and Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani were the chief guests of the function, which was presided over by the Convenor of APHC-AJK Chapter, Syed Yousuf Naseem.

It was on this day in 1931 that the Dogra troops shot dead 22 innocent Kashmiris one after other in front of Srinagar Central Jail who were later buried at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar.

They maintained that the martyrs of 1931 had inspired people of occupied territory to fight for their freedom and live with their heads up. The speakers urged India to give up its traditional intransigence and adopt a realistic approach towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute. They also underlined the need to involve Kashmiris in the dialogue process between Pakistan and India to find an amicable solution of the dispute.
