Islamabad, February 08 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed concern over the stepped up human rights violations in occupied Kashmir by Indian troops.
The APHC-AJK, in a statement issued after a meeting presided over by its Convenor, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar in Islamabad, condemned the house arrest of the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Fardoos Ahmad Shah.
The participants of the meeting urged the world human rights organizations to take cognisance of the rights violations perpetrated by the troops in the occupied territory.
Demanding an end to the siege of APHC office in Srinagar, they said that the troopers barged into the office and vandalized the accessories.
The participants called the killing of an innocent Kashmiri youth by the troops in Srinagar as the worst kind of Indian state terrorism. They expressed gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for showing solidarity with Kashmiris in their struggle for right to self-determination. »
