Another Tihar inmate faces harassment

Srinagar, April 27 (KMS): An innocent Kashmiri youth, Khursheed Ahmed Butt who is lodged in India’s Tihar Jail in New Delhi on fake charges has said that the Delhi Police team tortured and abused him during his journey from Jail to the district and sessions court at Pulwama in occupied Kashmir.

The detained youth in a letter to media in Srinagar said, “If India claimed herself as democratic state, it should not violate the judicial rights of those whose cases are being heard.” He has questioned the legitimacy of violence in judicial custody and abuse of power by the team accompanying an offender “whose offence has not been proved before the court of law.”

Referring to his recent visit to district and session court in Pulwama, the detained youth said “On March 24 and 25 this year, when I had to be present in the court, the Delhi police party abused and even threatened to kill me. “It appeared from their tone and tenor that they could have thrown me out of the train if the compartment would have been empty,” said Butt in his letter.
