APHC leaders brief human rights organisations in Geneva
Srinagar, March 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Association of the Parents of the Disappeared Persons has warned that a forceful agitation will be launched if the authorities did not disclose the whereabouts of the Kashmiris who disappeared in the custody of Indian troops.
A demonstration was held in Srinagar today, in protest against the Indian apathy towards the miseries of the relatives of over ten thousand missing people who were arrested by Indian army and police during the last 21 years. Parveena Ahangar, the Chairperson of the Association of the Disappeared Persons told media men that the discovery of unnamed graves in the occupied territory had clearly indicated that Indian troops were killing Kashmiri youth in custody and fake encounters.
The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Ghulam Ahmad Mir in a statement in Jammu expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health condition of senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah. JKLF-R leaders Farooq Ahmad Dar and Javid Ahmad Mir, talking to different delegations in Kupwara said that India would not be able to suppress the liberation struggle through use of brute force.
Meanwhile, the work in all the government offices including hospitals and schools in the occupied territory remained paralysed, today, due to the strike by the employees against the anti-people policies of the puppet authorities.
In Geneva, a Kashmiri delegation met the representatives of different human rights organisations and discussed with them the latest situation of occupied Kashmir. The delegation said that India had unleashed a rein of terror to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation movement. Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Altaf Hussain Wani, Ms Shameem Shawl and Sardar Amjad Yousuf were among those who comprised the delegation.
