Srinagar, May 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian trooper committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Islamabad district.
Suresh Chander of Rashtriya Rifles unit shot himself inside a camp at High Ground in the district. The death toll of such killings among Indian troops has reached 88 since January 2007. Chander is the fifth trooper who has committed suicide in the occupied territory in a fortnight.
Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more innocent Kashmiri youth, in a fake encounter, at Sadarkot area of Bandipora.
A trooper, Sanjay Kumar was killed when he slipped down from a hill in Kralpora. The dead body of a youth, Abdul Hameed Wani was recovered from Lal-Kul-Nalah in Kupwara.
Two persons were electrocuted and three others received grievous burn injuries when an 11KV high-tension electricity line touched a 220V line in Bandi area of Baramulla.
Panic-stricken villagers took to the streets and staged strong protest demonstration against the negligence of the Maintenance Wing of the Power Development Department (PDD). They demanded strict action against the employees of PDD.
