Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one Indian Police Constable died while 11 other personnel sustained injuries after unknown attacker hurled a grenade on a group of Indian forces in Nowhatta area of down town Srinagar today, evening.

A police official while confirming to media in Srinagar about the killing of a policeman said, “Constable Shamim was killed in the grenade attack which took place in the down town area of Srinagar.” He added that eleven other CRPF men and policemen were injured in the attack. »

Self-determination only solution to Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, against the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory.

Call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops and other business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road in Srinagar and other district headquarters of the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, a multi-tier set-up in the name of security was put in place with massive deployment of Indian troops and police personnel in occupied Kashmir on the occasion of Narendra Modi’s visit. Surprise checking of vehicles was conducted by forces across the territory. Even women passengers were not spared, as they, too, were subjected to frisking and checking. In Valley, the joint group of police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force placed barricades to stop vehicular movement. »

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement visited Badgam and Kulgam districts to express solidarity with victim families.

A delegation comprising M Maqbool, Bashir Ahmed and Abdul Salam visited Chadoora area of Badgam to express solidarity with the families of three civilians martyred by troops in the area last month.

Another delegation including Imtiyaz Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed and Zubair Ahmed visited the residence of martyr Tawseef Ahmed Wagay in Kulgam and expressed solidarity with his family members. »

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least 15 more youth were arrested by police during nocturnal raids in Arihal Pulwama for their participation in peaceful protest demonstrations.

Police last night raided dozens of houses in Arihal village and arrested at least 15 youth.

According to police all those arrested were involved in stone pelting on forces recently in the area. Locals, however, said that the youth were not involved in stone pelting. »

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of Indian was killed in a mysterious blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.

Reports said that the officer was critically wounded in a mysterious blast in Degwar sector of Poonch.

He was shifted to Army hospital in Poonch where he succumbed.

UN chief urged to resolve Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyet forum and head of Awami Action Committee (AAC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, vowing that the resistance leadership will take martyrs’ mission to its logical conclusion, has said that the sacrifices of Kashmiris will not go in vain.

On the directives of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest a delegation of AAC led by its senior member Abdul Salaam Khanday visited the residence of Tawseef Ahmad Wagay at Kulgam and expressed solidarity with family members of the martyred youth. »

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, lawyers and academicians said that people of the territory would insist on the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions for settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Speaking during a seminar on “Implementation of UN resolutions – The Only Solution to Kashmir Problem” organized by High Court Bar Association of the occupied territory in Srinagar, they said developmental activities cannot be a substitute of Kashmir resolution.

The seminar was organized to commemorate renowned human rights activist Advocate Jalil Andrabi on his 21st martyrdom anniversary. »
