New Delhi, February 17 (KMS): A Delhi court has acquitted three Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Rafiq Shah, Muhammad Hussain Fazili and Tariq Ahmad Dar, from all fake charges leveled against them in 2005.

All these youth were arrested by Indian police from Srinagar in November 2005 and were kept imprisoned in infamous Tihar Jail in Delhi blasts case.

They were arrested in connection with three bombs blasts in New Delhi’s markets of Sarojini Nagar, Kalkaji and Paharganj on October 29, 2005. The blasts that took place two days before Diwali resulted in the killing of 67 people.

A Delhi court on Thursday let off Muhammad Rafiq Shah, Muhammad Hussain Fazili and Tariq Ahmad Dar after over 11 years long illegal detention in the case for lack of evidence. The court also pulled up Delhi police for its failure to prove any links of these innocent youth with the 2005 serial blasts.

The court let off Muhammad Rafiq Shah, Muhammad Hussain Fazili and Tariq Ahmad Dar. However, it charged again Tariq Ahmed Dar for another minor case of having links with a Kashmiri liberation group and awarded him 10 years imprisonment – the period he has already undergone since his arrest on November 10, 2005. This means all the three would walk free in the case.
