UNSC asked to conduct urgent debate on Kashmir
Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a two-day protest strike will commence from, tomorrow, in connection with the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent Kashmiri liberation leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.

Call for the shutdown has been given by joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. A march will be held towards UN office at Sonawar in Srinagar on Friday. While reiterating the demand for the return of mortal remains of the two martyrs buried in the Tihar Jail premises, the leadership flung a jibe at India for violating all the principles of morality by not conceding to the popular demand. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyred leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru ahead of their martyrdom anniversaries.

The leaders have also launched a signature campaign to press for the return of their mortal remains buried in Delhi’s Tihar jail.

Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Ramzan Khan and Farida Behanji in their separate statements said that both the martyrs were the icons of the freedom movement of Kashmir. They would always be remembered as heroes of this suppressed Kashmiri people, who challenged Indian legitimacy and rule in Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the members of High Court Bar Association, as per the joint resistance leadership programme, staged a protest demonstration outside High Court premises in Srinagar and demanded settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. »

The pictures displayed on the occasion reflected the atrocities perpetrated by Indian troops against the Kashmiri people. Brussels, February 08 (KMS): President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan has asked United Nation Security Council (UNSC) to urgently conduct a debate on the Kashmir dispute specially violations of human rights by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

Masood Khan was addressing as a chief guest at a conference entitled “Kashmir Conflict and International Opinion” organized by Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU) in collaboration with Friends of Kashmir Group at the European Parliament in Brussels. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, has urged the justice-loving people and organizations across the globe to take cognizance of illegal political detentions in the territory.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar stressed the need for launching a sustained campaign to secure the release of these detainees including those awarded life imprisonment. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has denounced the arrest of several youth, ransacking of houses, and harassment of residents by Indian forces’ personnel at Bogam in Kulgam district.

The Hurriyet forum spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the police had created a reign of terror in the area by forcefully entering into houses, arresting youth and unleashing the worst kind of state terrorism. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of eight-year-old Asif Ahmed Sheikh, who was hit by pellets fired by Indian forces on July 20, is leading a miserable life after it exhausted all the money on the treatment of their blind son.

Asif’s mother, Wazeera Bano, told media that “After the day’s strict curfew, men had assembled at main Khanabal Chowk when all of a sudden two police vehicles appeared on the scene. “There were no protests at that time, but the policemen fired pellets and teargas shells without any provocation.” »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has said that Indian police vandalized its office in Kupwara district where preparations were being made for the Martyrs’ Week.

The JKLF spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said, “Police raided the district office of the party in Kupwara and besides vandalizing, they took away everything that was present in the office.” »

Nayeem Ahmad Khan while addressing a party meeting at Jawahar Nagar office in Srinagar after a recent visit to Jammu said that the so-called Village Defence Committees (VDC) under the patronage of communal forces had become a great threat to the Muslims of the region. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the ailing mother of illegally detained General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML), Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, has been admitted in Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar.

She is suffering from gastrointestinal issues and the family said that her condition was worsening. Rafiq Ganai’s brother, Mohammad Ashraf, who is attending his mother, demanded the release of the JKML leader so that he could visit his ailing mother. »

Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has reiterated its call for a complete shutdown in the territory on Thursday and Saturday to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent Kashmiri martyrs, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.

India had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th February in 1984 and Muhammad Afzal Guru in the same jail on 9th February 2013. Dead bodies of both the leaders remain buried in the premises of the jail. »
