Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) organised a convention in Srinagar on Kashmir Solidarity Day, yesterday, which also marked the completion of 24 years of detention of Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, the husband of DeM Chief Aasiya Andrabi.

A DeM spokesperson in a statement in Srinagar while expressing gratitude to people of Pakistan for their unflinching support to Kashmir cause, said, “The day is being celebrated at government level since 1990.” »

 India condemned for prolonging detentions

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a peaceful protest demonstration was held near central Jamia mosque in Srinagar, today, to raise voice against anti-Kashmir policies of India at executive and judiciary levels in the territory.

Call for the protest was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. A large number of resistance leaders and activists including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Omar Aadil Dar, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Shafi Khan, Imtiaz Haider and Sheikh Abdur Rasheed participated in the march.  »

Islamabad, February 06 (KMS): APHC-AJK chapter leaders along with politicians from Pakistan and Azad Kashmir held demonstrations in different cities of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the Indian authorities for illegally detaining hundreds of Kashmiris for life and thousands under draconian laws like Public Safety Act (PSA).

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar praised the Kashmiri prisoners who are serving life imprisonment or have been languishing in jails. He deplored the apathy of international community towards the plight of these people imprisoned for perusing a political struggle. He said that puppet rulers were using every tactic to prolong their incarceration. »

New Delhi, February 06 (KMS): Hurriyet leader, Javaid Mir met Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah in New Delhi and discussed with him prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir.

A statement released by his spokesman said that Javed Ahmad Mir discussed the current political situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Hurriyet leaders visit families of martyred youth

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the ailing Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani while paying tributes to the two youth, martyred by Indian troops in Amargarh area of Sopore district on Saturday, has said that India is responsible for continuous bloodshed in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We are peace-loving people and stubborn attitude of India is the root cause of all problems.” He further said, “Those who strive for a scared cause, never die, and achieve an eternal life and find place in history. Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, taking benefit of the harsh winter, India is using police and paramilitary forces to remove and modify the graffiti and slogans painted by the people of Kashmir, especially the youngsters during the uprising, but surveys and reports say that New Delhi has miserably failed to remove freedom sentiments from their hearts.

At many places the slogans have been craftily modified to change the meaning and subtext. The slogans and graffiti had been painted despite the warning from the authorities and the Indian armed forces. »
