Strike in Valley cripples life on 118th consecutive day

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, freedom marches will be conducted, tomorrow, towards district headquarters to protest against Indian illegal occupation, killing of innocent civilians and other brutalities by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley.

Call for the marches has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik as part of the protest calendar against the civilian killings. As per the protest calendar issued by the resistance leadership, last evening, 5th and 6th November will be observed as Jammu Martyrs’ Day to pay tributes to the martyrs of 1947. During the first week of November in 1947, hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were killed by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has strongly condemned the crackdowns, nocturnal raids and house to house searches, in which innocent people mostly youngsters are arrested and later lodged in police lockups or interrogation centres.

Members of HCBA’s Executive Committee in a meeting held in Srinagar were unanimous in stating that the ruthless Indian forces had let loose a reign of terror in the territory and no one was safe. These forces can arrest and detain anyone and slap on him/her any provision of any draconian law and even sent him/her to jail under the black law, Public Safety Act (PSA). »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students have said that the puppet authorities are playing a game over holding of Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations to break the ongoing mass uprising.

The students asked the authorities to shun away egoism and defer exams till March next year.

Amid the ongoing uprising, the puppet regime earlier issued dates to conduct class 10 and 12 exams from mid-November. However, it faced criticism from students, parents and academicians who demanded deferment of exams till March. The protests for deferment of exams continue with students, saying that authorities could not thrust exams on them in the prevailing situation. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has strongly denounced the continued illegal detention of its spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali.

The JI in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the detention of Advocate Zahid Ali as unjustified and based on flimsy grounds. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the prisoners lodged in Baramulla district jail have started hunger strike to protest against the highhandedness of the prison authorities.

Eighteen inmates were injured, the other day, after Indian police used brute force on the detainees when they were protesting in the jail against the non-provision of medical care to them.

Presently, all the jail inmates are observing hunger strike. They are demanding impartial probe into the highhandedness of the jail officials. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students were barred to meet the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Srinagar.

Eyewitnesses told media men that a group of students arrived at the residence of the Mirwaiz at Nigeen. Though they managed to enter the premises but officials there didn’t allow them to meet the Mirwaiz. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations have strongly denounced the use of excessive force by Indian forces during a crackdown at Anchar in Soura area of Srinagar.

The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar, “After the crackdown, people took to streets protesting the harassment while teargas shells, pellets and bullets were fired upon them, resulting in critical injuries to scores of persons, who are battling for life in hospitals.” He termed the action as the worst example of state terrorism. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, has expressed serious concern over Pak-India tension on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that this flare-up posed serious threat to peace and stability of the South Asian region. He urged the two countries to start meaningful dialogue on the Kashmir dispute, which is the main cause of confrontation between them. »

Srinagar, November 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, amid the prolonged occupation of half a dozen government schools by Indian paramilitary troops, the heads of these institutions have been asked by the authorities to remain prepared to hold class 10 and 12 exams commencing from mid-November.

Officials told media that a meeting of all Principals and Headmasters of schools was convened by Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) wherein the heads of the institutions – which continue to remain occupied by troops- were asked to make arrangements for exam centres in their institutions. »
