Srinagar, November 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police prevented the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani to hold a seminar at Hyderpora in Srinagar, today.

The seminar on “Islam—The Savior of Humanity” was scheduled to be held under the chair of Syed Ali Gilani at 11.00am in Srinagar, today, said a statement issued by the forum. Renowned religious scholars, intellectuals and Hurriyet leaders in their addresses were supposed to shed light on the protection of humanity in the light of Islam, but Indian police surrounded the residence of the veteran leader and did not allow anyone to enter the venue.

On the occasion, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir activists staged a sit-in outside the residence against the police act. However, police resorted to brute force against protesters, arresting many of them including Ramiz Raja, Omar Adil and Jumshaid.
