Srinagar, May 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, funeral prayers in absentia of Pakistani prisoner, Sanaullah, were held at different places including historical Jamia Masjid, in which hundreds of people participated. Sanaullah, who was critically injured after being attacked by a an ex-Indian army trooper in Kot Bhalwal jail, Jammu, last week, died at a hospital in Chandigarh on Thursday.
The APHC Chairman led the funeral prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar while Hurriyet leaders, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal at Masjid Hamza (Amira Kadal) and Pir Saifullah at Hyderpora.
People from different walks of life including pro-freedom leaders, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Moulvi Bashir Ahmad, Nisar Hussain Rather, Abdul Ahad Para, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Pir Mohammad Shafi, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Umer Adil Dar, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Yaar Mohammad Khan and Feroz Ahmad Khan participated in the funeral prayers.
The participants prayed for the departed soul and paid tributes to Kashmiri martyrs. They also raised pro-freedom slogans and pledged their resolve to continue the ongoing liberation movement till it reached its logical end.
