Srinagar, February 21 (KMS): The Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) has said that the Government of India has trampled all universal principles of justice by hanging Muhammad Afzal Guru in haste.
KCSDS Chairperson Hameeda Nayeem in a statement in Srinagar said that “leapfrogging to hang Afzal Guru speaks volumes about the dirty politics behind the act.”
Hameeda Nayeem, who alongwith various civil society members visited residence of Guru in Sopre, termed the secret execution a gruesome and ghastly act.
Hameeda said the Supreme Court could not prove Guru’s involvement in the parliament attack and had to execute him for satisfying the “collective conscience” of India.
“They threw away the universal principles of justice and fair play,” she said.
