‘Lal Chowk march’ stands intact: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq announced to uphold the march to Lal Chowk call and appealed for mass support to programmes of the coordination committee.

He was addressing a meeting of the coordination committee at his residence to chalk out future strategy.

Mirwaiz said that in the meeting detailed discussions were held on the current situation in the valley and concern was expressed over the detention of Hurriyet leaders.

“India must keep in mind that the time of bullying and intimidation is over and it cannot in any way crush the current mass movement in the occupied territory or hammer out a solution to the issue by use of force,” Mirwaiz said.

The APHC Chairman said that the ‘Lal Chowk Chalo’ programme continues to stand and the people should be prepared for the call, which would come at an appropriate time.

He said that the meeting decided that Kashmiri people would not succumb to pressure at any cost and no efforts would be spared to take the current movement to its logical conclusion.

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said, “The movement of Kashmiri people is not against any religion or particular faith and sect but it is a movement by Kashmiris to determine their own destiny,” he said.

He said that APHC had decided to step up its campaign at every front to mount pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir issue.
