    Martyrdom Week in IHK to commence from tomorrow

    Pak, India urged to find peaceful resolution of Kashmir

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Martyrdom Week will be observed from tomorrow to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

    The Martyrdom Week, announced by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, will be featured by different programmes like Quran Khawani, blood bank, seminars and public rallies besides a complete shutdown in the occupied territory on 21st May.

    Police thrash, detain reporter, photographer in IHK

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police thrashed and detained a Srinagar-based reporter and a photojournalist while they were performing their professional duties in Baramulla district.

    The reporter associated with the daily Rising Kashmir, Asem Mohiuddin and photographer Tajammul-ul-Islam, were on their way to Rafiabad to cover police recruitment rally. However, they were stopped by the police team led by SHO Baramulla near Stadium Colony.

    Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the students of Kashmir University staged a protest against the Indian police for roughing up cricket players and conducting aerial firing in the camps, today.

    Indian troops martyr 6 Kashmiris in April

    Islamabad, May 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred 6 Kashmiris including a young boy during the last month of April.

    According to the data released by Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, the troops arrested 44 youth during the period. 45 persons were injured, most of them critically, due to the use of brute force by Indian troops and police personnel against peaceful protesters. The troops disgraced 4 women and subjected one youth to disappearance in custody in the month.

    Shutdown in Pampore against arrest of youth

    Srinagar, April 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed for the second consecutive day, today, against the arrest of youth in Pampore town.

    Al-Moosvi urges India to resolve Kashmir dispute

    Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to express solidarity with the Executive Director of Kashmiri American Council, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai in recognition to his commendable services for the Kashmir cause.

    Call for the shutdown had been given by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. Shops, businesses establishments and educational institutions remained closed while transport was off the road.

    Protesters subjected to force in Baramulla, several injured

    Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several persons were injured in violent police actions against pro-freedom protesters in Baramulla town.

    People took to streets and staged anti-India demonstrations at Main Chowk, Tehsil Point, Tanga Adda, Khawaja Bagh Adda, Cement Bridge, Bata Gali and Kiraya Park in the town. At least 14 demonstrators were injured when the personnel of Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force resorted to baton charge and fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters.

    Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred 14 innocent Kashmiris, including two women, during the last month of March.

    According to the data compiled by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, two of the victims, were killed in custody.
