    peace process

Let's make this peace process genuinely irreversible

When the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh shook hands at the Mohali Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, India, on March 30, during the semi-final of the world cup between the two South Asian giants, it was not merely a photo session, but it seemed like they were setting off another round of cricket diplomacy that marked a cautious return of good will. This is perhaps the third time the two nations are using the game to bridge their differences.

Resumption of dialogue process a good omen for regional peace

The talks between the Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India at Thimpu, Bhutan in the first week of February 2011 have been held in cordial atmosphere and both sides now look forward to resuming dialogue on different contentious issues.  Pakistan Foreign Minister is likely to undertake his visit to India in March and April this year, which is likely to yield more positive results for the two nations.
