Srinagar, August 15 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over observed the Indian Independence Day, today, as Black Day to convey to the world that the people of Kashmir have yet to exercise their birth right to self-determination.

Troops open fire on protesters in Pattan, 1 critically injured

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, another civilian was shot in the head when Indian troopers opened fire on a peaceful demonstration at Singhpora in Pattan, this morning.

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian paramilitary troopers and police martyred five protestors and injured several of them, today, while resorting to firing and brute force to quell demonstrations in Trehgam, Pattan and Sopore areas. One youth was shot dead during a crackdown at Kas Kancha in Rajouri.

The demonstrators at several places were raising slogans asking India to quit Kashmir without any further delay. Those killed today, included a 10th class student and a 65-year old civilian. » Read more

10th class student killed, woman injured in troops’ firing

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 10th class student was martyred and a 45-year-old woman was injured when paramilitary CRPF troopers opened fire on a group of people coming out of a mosque after offering Fajr prayers at Trehgam town in Kupwara district, today. As people were coming out of a mosque at Mirpora mohalla in Trehgam town, CRPF troops opened fire on them in which a boy, Mudasir Ahmed Zargar was killed and a 45-year-old woman, Jana Begum was injured. » Read more
