Tri-partite talks must for Kashmir solution: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, April 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has emphasised that in the backdrop of changing circumstances at the world level, a solution of Kashmir dispute could be brought about through tripartite talks keeping in view the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The APHC Chairman said this while addressing a public gathering in Srinagar. He maintained that Kashmiris wanted a peaceful solution of the dispute, which was possible through dialogue involving Pakistan, India and the real representatives of Kashmiris.

Srinagar, April 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has warned that illegally detained Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails are suffering from life-threatening diseases. The Bar spokesman in a media interview in Srinagar said that a six-member delegation led by the Bar President, Nazir Ahmed Ronga has returned to Srinagar after its visit to 13 different jails including, Kathua, Kot Bhalwal and India’s infamous Tihar, Rohini and Agra prisons.

New Dehli, April 19 (KMS): A high level delegation of Indian Muslims called on the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi and expressed their concern for the safety of Muslims in India.

The delegation comprising among others, the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and Muslim Personal Law Board (MPLB), sought Dr Manmohan Singh’s direct intervention into the sustained harassment, random arrest and media trials of Muslim youth in the name of terrorism in different parts of India.
