Gandhi's grandson calls for peaceful solution to Kashmir issue

New York, April 14 (KMS): The grandson of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Rajmohan Gandhi, has called for a peaceful solution to the vexed Kashmir issue acceptable to all parties including India, Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

While addressing a Peace Conference in New York he said that the Kashmiris had faced many difficulties and suffered at the hands of the Indian government and stressed the need for a resolution through non-violent means.

The conference was jointly organized by Awami National Party and Khyber Society, USA.

Troops martyr one more innocent youth in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more innocent youth in Srinagar district, today.

Indian Central Reserve Police Force personnel killed the youth during violent military operation at Theed-Harwan in the district.

Omar Abdullah demands probe into graves’ discovery

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the President of National Conference (NC), Omar Abdullah has demanded an independent commission to probe into the recent revelation of nearly 1000 unmarked graves in Uri area of Baramulla district.

Rental hikes adversely affect fruit production in IHK

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the fruit growers, who are not satisfied with recent rent hike by the Indian defence ministry, have asked government of India and the puppet administration not to acquire horticulture land for any purposes.

With fruit production static, the growers fear that acquiring of the horticulture land will further reduce the fruit production in the occupied territory.

Family in IHK awaits justice since 2002

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, family members of a youth, killed by Indian troops in a fake encounter are waiting for the day when his killers would be punished.

Showkat Ahmad Zargar of Rainawari in Srinagar was picked up by the troops of 49th battalion from his house on April 9 in 2002 and later killed in a fake encounter.

Indian troops convert private properties into barracks

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops who have illegally occupied hotels, houses and other private buildings are harassing residents without any rhyme or reason.

Owners whose properties are under the occupation of troops, said that troops have converted their buildings and lands into barracks. They demand immediate evacuation of troops from their properties.

State-terrorism makes Kashmiri mother’s life painful

Srinagar, April 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a mother whose one son was killed and other disappeared in Indian troops’ custody has resorted to begging to earn for her family that mostly comprises her grandchildren.

Baaga’s one son, Ghulam Rasool a carpet weaver, was killed at Panzgam village by Indian troops. A year later, another son, Fayaz Ahmad who ran a shop at Sopore, was picked up by the troops and since then nothing is known about him. Baaga tried hard to trace the whereabouts of her son but couldn’t locate him.
