    Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Martyrdom Week commenced to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

    People attended in large number the functions of the recitation of Holy Quran held at Rajouri Kadal and Mirwaiz Manzil in Srinagar.

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Martyrdom Week will be observed from tomorrow to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

    The Martyrdom Week, announced by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, will be featured by different programmes like Quran Khawani, blood bank, seminars and public rallies besides a complete shutdown in the occupied territory on 21st May.

    Four civilians injured in IHK blast

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, four civilians were injured in a grenade blast in Islamabad district.

    The grenade exploded at Sangam Chowk in the district, police officials said. Four civilians including Dr Manzoor Ahmad, Mohammad Ashraf and Javed Ahmad were injured in the incident. All injured were shifted to Sub-Divisional Hospital Bijbehara and from there Dr Manzoor and Mohammad Ashraf were referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar for further treatment.

    Kashmiri leaders express grief over death of Malik’s father

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, leaders of pro-movement and pro-India parties have expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Ghulam Qadir Malik, the father of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, who passed away in Srinagar on Monday.

    Police thrash, detain reporter, photographer in IHK

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police thrashed and detained a Srinagar-based reporter and a photojournalist while they were performing their professional duties in Baramulla district.

    The reporter associated with the daily Rising Kashmir, Asem Mohiuddin and photographer Tajammul-ul-Islam, were on their way to Rafiabad to cover police recruitment rally. However, they were stopped by the police team led by SHO Baramulla near Stadium Colony.

    Gilani’s forum to organise seminar on may 19

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronised by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, will organise a seminar on Kashmir in Srinagar on May 19.

    The meeting of the Advisory Council of the forum in Srinagar, which was chaired by Syed Ali Gilani, deliberated upon the latest situation in the occupied territory.

    People hailing from various walks of life including politicians, journalists and historians have been invited to the seminar.

    Kashmir needs to be resolved as per Kashmiris’ wishes: Shawl

    London, May 15 (KMS): The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, has welcomed different confidence building measures between Pakistan and India, but cautioned that for establishment of durable peace in the region the core issue of Kashmir needs to be resolved as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Pro-India, liberation parties urged to unite for justice, peace

    Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Kashmir Chapter, has impressed upon both pro-India and pro-liberation parties to get united and raise a unanimous voice to ensure justice, peace and dignified life for the Kashmir youth.
